IOWA LAKES ESTABLISHES ANNA MAE KACMARYNSKI MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Iowa Lakes Community College announces the creation of the Anna Mae Kacmarynski Memorial Scholarship, a tribute to the inspiring life and legacy of Anna Mae Kacmarynski, established by her daughter, Cathy Hanish.
“I wanted to honor our mom’s love of learning and her belief that it is never too late to pursue your dreams,” shared Hanish. “She was a life-long learner who completed her Associate of Arts degree from Iowa Lakes in 1997 at the age of 63.”
The Anna Mae Kacmarynski Memorial Scholarship will award $1,000 annually to non-traditional age students who are residents of the Iowa Lakes Community College district, which includes Clay, Dickinson, Emmet, Kossuth, or Palo Alto Counties. Candidates must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher and may use the award to cover tuition, books, and fees. The scholarship is not need-based, and no FAFSA application is required. Awards will vary based on full-time or part-time enrollment status.
The scholarship celebrates Anna Mae’s legacy and her unwavering belief in the power of education. Iowa Lakes Community College is honored to support students who, like Kacmarynski, are pursuing their dreams later in life and demonstrating that it’s never too late to learn.
