LARSEN NAMED DIRECTOR OF MUSIC & PERFORMING ARTS AT IOWA LAKES
ESTHERVILLE, Iowa — Iowa Lakes Community College has named Lincoln Larsen as the new Director of Music and Performing Arts, effective July 1.
A proud alumnus of Iowa Lakes, Larsen returns to the college with a passion for music education and a commitment to continuing the strong legacy of the program.
“I’m excited to be ‘going home’ to Iowa Lakes to continue the legacy of Carol Ayres Stueven,” said Larsen. “This college played a huge role in shaping my career, and I’m honored to give back to the place where it all began.”
Larsen currently teaches in the Deming Public Schools system in New Mexico. He holds a Master of Music in trumpet performance from New Mexico State University, a Bachelor of Music Education from Morningside University, and an Associate of Arts degree from Iowa Lakes.
Larsen’s appointment follows the retirement of longtime band director and professor, Carol Ayres Stueven, who has led the program with distinction for many years.
“Carol’s retirement marks the end of a remarkable era for our music program,” said Troy Larson, Dean of Students at Iowa Lakes. “She brought energy, creativity and a deep care for students to everything she did. We are thrilled to welcome Lincoln back—his talent, leadership and enthusiasm will help ensure our program continues to thrive.”
Larsen will oversee the college’s music and performing arts programming, including ensembles, performances and student engagement across campuses.
